The story is based on the children of Syria's true stories. It has been developed together with children, therapists and experts, over several years, to provide all children with tools for coping with the challenges they face in life, both large and small.

The refugee hero: What do children think?
Imad Elabdala, a Syrian granted asylum in Sweden, has written the world’s first children's therapy book with a refugee hero, designed to tackle mental health problems among displaced children.
A class in Stockholm was joined by children from a refugee camp in the city to hear Imad tell the story. This is what they thought.
Imad Elabdala is Trailblazer of the Year "Årets Nybyggare"
For the eighteenth year in a row, the King of Sweden, HM King Carl XVI Gustaf awarded his royal entrepreneurial prize to the Trailblazer of the Year "Årets Nybyggare" at a ceremony at the castle. Imad Elabdala was chosen as 2018's winner after five regional finals, where a total of 95 candidates were nominated.
